Majora’s Mask
“The ancient mask lies at the ruins where soldiers gathered. From there, the waters of Lake Kolomo are visible.”
The chest that conceals Majora’s Mask is in the Kolomo Garrison Ruins, on the south shore of Lake Kolomo. The mask is the reward for the sidequest “EX Treasure: Ancient Mask,” and it disguises you among all field enemies until you break your cover by attacking them. Like all other DLC chests, the mask’s chest is black and gold and labeled “EX.” You can reach this location by teleporting to the Great Plateau Tower and gliding directly east, past the Outpost Ruins. The precise location of the mask can be seen in the image below:
Korok Mask
“Some say the treasure chest containing this mask is hidden in a tree hollow in a forest that makes people lose their way.”
The Korok Mask can be found in the Lost Woods as the reward for the sidequest “EX Strange Mask Rumors.” It works like the Sheikah Sensor, but for hidden Koroks: when one is near, the mask will shake, sparkle, and make Korok sounds. Like all other DLC armor pieces, it is located in a black and gold chest labeled “EX.” This one just so happens to be hiding in the mouth of a grotesque tree; teleport to Woodland Tower and glide down to the Lost Woods’ entrance. Follow the torches until you reach a pair of them. Grab the unlit torch leaning against one of the lit torches, light it with the provided fire, and follow the sparks so you don’t get yourself kicked out of the maze of fog. The precise location of the Korok Mask is below.
Midna’s Helmet
“The princess of twilight, whose stories are handed down alongside those of the Hero of Twilight… Her helmet can be found at the temple ruins soaked in the waters of Regencia River.”
Midna’s Helmet is the reward for the sidequest “EX Treasure: Twilight Relic.” It provides the Guardian Resist Up effect to reduce damage taken from Guardians. It is contained in a black and gold treasure chest labeled “EX” to signify it is part of the expansion passes. It is camouflaged in the water at the Sage Temple Ruins, the intersection of the aforementioned Regencia River and Tamio River. To remove it from the ground, use the Sheikah Slate’s Magnesis rune to pull it out.
The easiest way to reach this location is to teleport to the Sheem Dagoze Shrine and head east to Jeddo Bridge. The precise location of the helmet is shown below:
Zant’s Helmet
“The helm of the self-proclaimed King of Shadows is in the swamp of the valley of dead trees, south of Dueling Peaks.”
Zant’s Helmet, the reward for the sidequest “EX Treasure: Usurper King,” can be found in Tobio’s Hollow, south of the Dueling Peaks mountains. The helmet provides the Unfreezable effect to prevent you from ice-infused enemy attacks, though it does not protect you from the natural cold and still allows for damage from the attacks. A Hinox sleeps near here. The closest shrine is Bosh Kala; teleport here and cross the nearby river and continue southeast until you reach the hollow, where there is a tiny island in the middle of a pool of mud. Create ice blocks on top of the mud with Cryonis (stepping in it will lead to you instantly sinking) to reach the island. Use Magnesis to pull out the chest containing Zant’s Helmet. The precise location is below:
Ravio’s Hood
“The traveling merchant’s hood is in the right hand of the dragon that consumes the Spring of Courage at Dracozu Lake”.
Ravio’s Hood, the reward for the sidequest “EX Treasure: Merchant Hood,” can be found right outside of the Spring of Courage. It provides the Sideways Climb Speed Up effect to let you climb faster in a horizontal direction. Teleport to Shae Katha Shrine, exit the dragon’s mouth, and look to your left between the dragon statue’s head and right hand. There is an area of light-colored dirt underneath the dragon’s right hand. Walk underneath the hand, activate Magnesis, and pull the hidden chest out. The precise location is shown below:
Island Lobster Shirt
“The blue garb of the hero who controlled the wind and traveled the ocean is where the Menoat River was born.”
The Island Lobster Shirt, the reward for the sidequest “EX Treasure: Garb of Winds,” can be found in Cora Lake. It provides Level 1 Heat Resistance, which will prove helpful in your first treks across the Gerudo Desert. Teleport to Lake Tower and glide south into Cora Lake. Swim or use Cryonis ice blocks to reach the rocks at the lake’s far west. Then, activate Magnesis to look underwater and locate the chest containing the Island Lobster Shirt before pulling it out. The precise location is shown in the image below:
Nintendo Switch Shirt
While the Nintendo Switch Shirt is not part of any sidequest, it can be found right by the Ja Baij Shrine on the Great Plateau. Teleport to the shrine and look to the left. Climb up the stone wall, where the chest containing the T-shirt sits in plain sight. The precise location is shown in the image below:
Royal Guard’s Set
The Royal Guard’s Set, the reward for the sidequest “EX Royal Guard Rumors,” consists of three pieces, each of which is hidden in a different chest in Hyrule Castle. When the entire set is equipped, it provides the set bonus Charge Attack Stamina Up. This means your stamina will be consumed more slowly when performing charge attacks. Refer to the map of Hyrule Castle’s rooms if you are unfamiliar with the castle’s layout.
Cap (headgear)
On the second floor of the Sanctum (the same room in which Calamity Ganon is sealed in).
Uniform (chest gear)
In the Dining Hall.
Boots (leg gear)
In the Guards’ Chamber.
Phantom Ganon Set
The Phantom Ganon Set, the reward for the sidequest “EX Treasure: Dark Armor,” consists of three pieces, each of which is hidden in a chest in the Faron region. When the entire set is equipped, it will provide the Bone Attack Up and Stal Disguise set bonuses. The first increases the attack power of bone weapons, including Stal arms and Dragonbone spears and clubs. The second disguises you around Stal enemies until you break your cover by attacking them.
Skull (headgear)
Teleport to Faron Tower and glide southeast to the location marked on the map above. Use the Magnesis rune to locate and pull the metal chest out of the water.
Armor (chest gear)
Teleport to Faron Tower and glide east to the bridge crossing Floria River. The chest you’re looking for is directly underneath the bridge. Create an ice pillar with the Cryonis rune, glide down to land on it, and use Magnesis to pull the chest out of the water.
Greaves (leg gear)
Teleport to Qukah Nata Shrine and head southwest to the point marked on the map above. There are numerous bird statues here; the chest containing the greaves is at the base of the broken one. Use Magnesis to pull it out of the ground.
Phantom Set
The Phantom Set, the reward for the sidequest “EX Treasure: Phantasma,” consists of three pieces, each of which is found in a chest in Hyrule Field. When the entire set is equipped, it will provide the Attack Up set bonus that increases the damage you do from any attack.
Helmet (head gear)
Teleport to Kaam Ya’tak Shrine and follow the pathway that leads into the Coliseum. Make sure to wear the Lynel Mask obtained from Kilton’s Fang and Bone shop to disguise yourself for a short time against the Lynel in the Coliseum’s center. The chest is buried in the ground to the right of the entrance and by the northeast wall; use Magnesis to pull it out.
Armor (chest gear)
Teleport to Katah Chuki Shrine and take the paths to the east until you find the Sacred Ground Ruins, directly in front of Hyrule Castle. Activate Magnesis and pull out the chest buried on the outer ring of the ruins.
Greaves (leg gear)
Teleport to Central Tower and glide southeast to the Hyrule Garrison Ruins. The chest containing the greaves is buried in the ground beside a dead Decayed Guardian. Use Magnesis to pull it out.
Tingle’s Set
Tingle’s Set, the reward for the sidequest “EX Treasure: Fairy Clothes,” consists of three pieces, each of which is found in a chest in Hyrule Field’s ruins. When the entire set is equipped, it provides the Night Speed Up set bonus, letting you travel faster during in-game nighttime.
Hood (headgear)
Teleport to Central Tower and glide to the Exchange Ruins, slightly northeast of Aquame Bridge. The chest containing the hood is found buried in one of the tiny bodies of water around the stone ruins. Pull it out with the Magnesis rune.
Shirt (chest gear)
A Guardian is roaming around where the treasure is, on the east side of the prison’s island by the road. The chest is by some destroyed buildings buried in the ground. Pull it out with Magnesis and get out of there as soon as possible; Guardians are dangerous, laser-firing foes.
Tights (leg gear)
Teleport to Central Tower and glide east to the spot marked on the map above, northwest of the Ranch Ruins. Head to the small body of water in the ruins, where a dead Decayed Guardian rests. The chest is buried in the pond beneath the Guardian. Use Magnesis to pull it out.
Equipment
Travel Medallion
The Travel Medallion, the reward for the “EX Teleportation Rumors!” sidequest, is located in the underground floor of Lomei Labyrinth, the floating cube in Hyrule’s farthest northeast corner. It is an extremely useful item; instead of solely relying on shrines and towers as fast travel points, you can place one of your own anywhere on the map. Just remember that you can only have one custom travel point active on the map at a time.
Teleport to the labyrinth’s Tu Ka’loh Shrine and drop down the hole directly in front of it in which an updraft blows through. Sprint past the four active Guardians to the “EX” treasure chest against the wall opposite of the updraft.
Horse Accessories
Ancient Bridle
The Ancient Bridle is located atop Satori Mountain, the same location where the Lord of the Mountain can be found. When equipped on a registered horse, the bridle will add two stamina spurs to it. Teleport to Mogg Latan Shrine, hike up the mountain, and look for a chest-shaped hump sticking out of a cherry blossom tree’s roots. Use Magnesis to pull it out.
Ancient Saddle
The Ancient Saddle is located at Malanya Spring, the location of the Horse God who can resurrect dead horses. When equipped on a registered horse, the saddle allows the horse to teleport to you wherever it is and wherever you are. Walk between the huge purple fairy fountain and the wall on the left to the canyon behind the spring. The chest containing the saddle is in the back left corner buried in the ground. Pull it out with Magnesis.
