What’s Next for Baron Zemo?

Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl), despite having his beginning as a nasty villain who turned Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) into the Winter Soldier, just gets us all the time with his humor – and yes, those groovy dance moves! After breaking out of jail, he’s left a lot of his old self to become a kind of…well, good guy.

But Episode 5 “Truth” had to let go of Zemo, unfortunately. Taken by Ayo (Florence Kasumba) and the Dora Milaje, he said a proper goodbye to Bucky, ordering him to find a way to capture Karli Morgenthau (Erin Kellyman) along with her Flag Smashers. But what will become of much-loved Baron Zemo? He’s going straight back where he started: in prison!

What’s the Raft?

What was the last line the Wakandans spoke to Zemo? “Take him to the Raft, where he will live out his days.” Wait.. has ‘the Raft’ appeared in the MCU before? Take a look.

The Raft was first introduced in Jessica Jones before moving its way into Captain America: Civil War. However, the prison had the same purpose in both: detaining individuals with powers or abilities. Although Zemo doesn’t have either, it would be much safer to keep him in the Raft than an ordinary German prison – after all, this baron isn’t just a normal guy. His sneaky techniques and secret access to guns everywhere make him a more dangerous prisoner deserving to be incarcerated in a place like the Wakandans’ Raft.

Who else has been inside this Raft? Several people have actually been detained here in Civil War, such as Wanda Maximoff, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, and even Sam Wilson himself. So Zemo isn’t the only one coming in here! When he enters, he’s going to be in the cell with Team Cap’s legacy behind him.

How this could connect to Black Panther II

2016’s hit blockbuster film Black Panther’s going to have a sequel confirmed for a 2022 release. Even though it’s going to be without Chadwick Boseman, his not-so-little sister Shuri is planned to take on the role of Black Panther in the second movie, going through all the challenges needed to become more than a techy princess. If that wasn’t good enough already..?

If Zemo really is going to be imprisoned permanently in the Raft (without anyone breaking him out this time), Daniel Bruhl’s prone to be cast for Black Panther II since the special facility is located on Wakanda. What could be in for him if he could actually break out of prison, escape to his homeworld of Sokovia, and even…meet up with Bucky again? Yes, Sebastian Stan could be in Black Panther II due to his connections to Zemo!

Hardly anything has been revealed concerning the cast, storyline, and characters of Black Panther II. Who do YOU want to show up?
