All Upcoming Films Announced on December 10

Disney has definitely been busy. Tons of Marvel movies and series (we’ll talk about that in another article), plus Star Wars series were announced on December 10. It was almost an overload for fans with so many of their favorite characters getting their own feature films. Here are the upcoming Star Wars series and a little bit about them below.

  1. Obi-Wan Kenobi Series

The Obi-Wan series that has been talked about for such a long time is actually confirmed now. It’s apparently a single-season show, with Ewan McGregor returning as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen as Anakin. The show will discuss what Obi-Wan was doing all those years between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Rumor: Ahsoka might appear in the Obi-Wan series!

  1.  Ahsoka Tano Series

To make up for Ahsoka’s one-episode appearance in The Mandalorian Chapter 13: The Jedi, Lucasfilm decided to create an official Ahsoka series that has a real title and cover to confirm it’s not a rumor any longer. This series takes place in the time frame of The Mandalorian; it is most likely that it will deal with Tano’s quest for Grand Admiral Thrawn, making it a possibility that Thrawn will not appear in Mandalorian after all, plus maybe go on another mysterious journey. The World Between Worlds-like background of the Ahsoka series’ cover may suggest that she will return there.

  1. The Bad Batch Series

Introduced in Season 7 of Clone Wars, The Bad Batch was an unique troop consisting of five clones: Wrecker, Tech, Hunter, Echo, and Crosshairs. Since their story ended with their whereabouts unknown, this series will explain their future. It is also drawn in the Clone Wars animation style and features a mysterious lady that looks like Zam Wesell from Attack of the Clones.

  1. The Acolyte Series

The Acolyte series will talk more about dark-side powers and the mysteries of the Force. Characters in the series include the Nightsisters more than ever, with Inquisitors and more Sith joining them! Rumor: Ventress may return!

  1. Cassian Andor Series

Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor will get his own series about his journey before the events of Rogue One. However, the idea of filming this series was not a recent one: the shooting started in London  before December 10, and the actor is very excited to see his character in an original series. The show may debut in 2021 or 2022.

  1. Lando Series

The Lando series’ premiere date is still unknown, but the series will go in detail about the smooth-talking smuggler’s adventures that weren’t described in the movies. As you can see, the cover of the show has the main colors of Lando’s outfit – the golden yellow of the rim of his cape, the blue of the cape, and the red of the inside of his cape. We don’t know if the Lando role will be taken by Donald Glover (Solo) or Billy Dee Williams (Empire Strikes Back). Rumor: Han Solo played by Harrison Ford might take a small role in this series!

  1. Rangers of the New Republic Series

For readers unfamiliar with the time period of the New Republic, it’s during the time of the Clone Wars right before A New Hope. New Republic is another term for the short name Republic. The rangers mentioned in this series could be anyone: X-wing pilots, Resistance dropout Cara Dune (The Mandalorian), the Rogue One force, or even Jedi. Ahsoka may be featured in this series on top of her role in her own series and her rumored role in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

  1. A Droid Story Animated Series

The animated series A Droid Story will talk more about C-3PO and R2-D2’s humorous and enjoyable capers throughout the galaxy. Debuting in 2022, the kid-friendly show may be drawn in Clone Wars animation, similarly to The Bad Batch series. Luke and Leia are also rumored to appear in the series assisting their fellow droids.

  1. Visions Series

The Visions series is quite cloaked in darkness so far, with very little known about its plot, characters, and who will direct it. What we do know is that Visions will be a limited series of short films similar to Galaxy of Adventures and Forces of Destiny and great for those who love to watch short little clips. As a heads up to those who are expecting a long series of shorts, it won’t be very long; the show will only be 1 or 2 seasons long.

  1. Rogue Squadron Movie

Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron will go in further detail about the X-wing fighter team composed of the remaining members of Red Squadron and Luke Skywalker. To be released in December 2023, the full-length Star Wars movie might talk about how these superb pilots were trained.
